2014 Kia Cadenza

This is an all-new model by Kia

Introduction

This is a Kia large sedan, after the previous sedan by Kia in 2009 the Amanti. Even though the Amanti was not the go to car Kia the Korean carmaker has been coming up with many models in all the segments in the present. The Cadenza seems to be in the same line coming out as a large sedan into the customers hands.

The Cadenza is a front wheel driver which is wider than the Optima; this has the same base as the Hyundai’s Azera.

Under the hood the Cadenza carries a 3.3 liter V6 which is capable of producing 293 horsepower and comes with a six speed automatic gearbox. The steering and suspension has also been enhanced by Kia to give the sedan a sportier feel. Still this remains a luxury sedan with a very stylish outlook which is more than capable to stand out in an eye catching way in the crowd.

Kia only produces Cadenza with one trim level, this level is quite well equipped and this maybe to reduce the complexity in building and order controlling.

The Kia Cadenza is entering a marked segment with very high reputed and worthy competitors such as the Chrysler 300, Toyota Avalon, Volkswagen Passat and Buick LaCrosse each of these vehicles have great credentials however overall we feel that the Kia’s 2014 Cadenza is still a wise an excellent choice as a large sedan

Trim level options

This car comes in only one trim level which is very well equipped, along with all the standard features there are also outstanding features like 10 way power steering and heated front seats with a ventilated drivers seat. There are quite a lot of high-tech features included in the standard as well such as a voice command system, navigation system and a 12-speaker Infinity sound.

Few option packages are also available. Such as the premium package which adds xenon light and a sunroof and the Technology package which includes a adaptive cruise control and few other additions to the electronics of the Kia Cadenza.

Power and Performance

The 3.3 liter V6 is capable of getting a power output of 293 horsepower and 255 pound feet of torque. This comes along with a six speed gearbox with automatic transmission. Similar to the Hyundai Azera the time taken to go from a standstill to 60 mph can be guessed to be around 7 seconds

Safety

Standard features are included for safety such as; antilock brakes, traction control, stability control, airbags (front, rear side, side curtain) and hill start assist.

Interior

The interior of the Kia Cadenza houses quality material and an eye catching handsome design. The touch screen is quite user friendly with its large buttons. The Cadenza with the Chrysler’s/Dodge’s unit can be stated as the best multitasking interface ever seen in a car.

The comfort in the car is also luxurious with seats that provide very good back and leg support. The car is very roomy from the interior with the several adjustments available for the steering wheel the Cadenza makes sure that a driver of any size is made comfortable in the driver’s seat.

Driving feel

Even though the Kia Cadenza is a full sized sedan it will give you the feel of a smaller car when it is driven around bends and towns. The firm suspension will be relaxing thanks to the noiseless cabin with the comfortable interior.

Cadenza is able to power up and accelerate with ease. Power delivery is very smooth and the transmission is quite responsive in proving the necessary downshift and up shifts.
